The Rangashaipet Brass Cluster nestled in the heart of Warangal, is home to generations of skilled artisans who have mastered the intricate art of brass sheet work techniques since the time of chalukyas. Recognizing the immense potential and the need for revival of this heritage cluster in tune with the modern times, NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) undertook a comprehensive development project aimed at empowering artisans and strengthening the cluster through capacity building, institutional support, and market linkage. Under NABARD’s guidance, 25 artisans underwent structured training under the expertise of Sri Ragi Veerabrahma Chary, a renowned master trainer. This initiative not only improved technical skills but also fostered innovation in product design and finishing, blending tradition with modernity. Through NABARD’s vision and support, the Rangashaipet Brass Cluster is evolving from a traditional craft community into a modern, self-sustaining ecosystem. The initiative has not only revived an age-old art form but also empowered artisans with dignity, financial independence, and a pathway to wider & global markets. It stands as a shining example of how focused institutional support, when combined with community ownership, can preserve heritage while paving the way for sustainable livelihoods.
